XENESTHIS - Sick Of Pitch-Black

We have received a letter, containing CD and a message, that band called Xenesthis from Austria would like to turn up at the Metalswamp stage.

Fine, let’s have a look at them. However, CD, which had arrived, contains only 3 tracks, the full-length album contains much more. Xenesthis, founded in 2004, are playing music of quite a popular genre. Melodic metalcore, with growling man and singing woman, pure, significant rhytm and guitar melodies. Great to shake your head off, yes, but the female vocals are getting more and more eventless. But hey, don’t take it too seriously, female vocals are not my favourite.    

Second track incoming! The vocals are no more like knee-drabbling in a mixture of cottage cheese and morning diarrhoea after a veeeery long night, but it’s still, all the three minutes, the same. The music is rolling, thundering, raging, but the vocals just sucks. Well, I believe someone would enjoy them.     

The entire music is so agressive, that the vocals just don’t fit it, but in the last third of the album, I have to change my mind. Katrin no longer yells that much. Hoorah. We can even hear the bass clearly.

Well, personally, this genre is not my cup of tea. Xenesthis would like to perform on Metalswamp stage and maybe it would be better if the decision shall be laid on the readers. For myself, I can say, that I would actually LIKE to see them here on MS, but I would enjoy them silently, sitting and drinking my beer.
