PERUNICA FEST II

ARKONA (RUS), ALKONOST (RUS), ROSSOMAHAR (RUS), ANCESTRAL VOLKHVES (SVK), ŽREC (CZE), MORAVSKÁ ZIMA (CZE)

Because I like Arkona much, I went on this concert with enthusiasm and I really looked forward. Other bands I knew at least from posters, so I thought that today, no newbies are gonna play.

I purposely arrived later, because I didn’t wanted to see show of Moravská Zima (Moravian Winter). I don’t like their music much and also, If I would like to see our country flag and to hear „Is here any patriot, damn?!“, I’ll go to see football match.

After Moravian Winter, band called „Žrec“ arrived on stage. I have to honor them for impressive costumes, music with uncommon instruments and also the energy, which they have brought by with their music.

Third band, russian Alkonost, was about to start playing. I believe that big part of the audience looked forward on their show, and I also believe they’ve not been disappointed. Charming singer with her soft and melodic voice almost immedeately earned my respect, well, that could be said as concerning whole band. Music full of energy, fitting vocals, well-done show, imaginativeness. Without Alkonost, whole Perunica fest won’t be worth a buck, but later about that.

Another band – Ancestral Volkhves from Slovakia. I hope that my report won’t offend anyone, but this was awful....at least for me. Black metal like this is maybe way too much „true“ for me. However, the drums and rhytm were all-perfect, but plain riffs, hard and chrippy vocals, that’s not a music for me.

Band called „Rossomahar“, phew, what a title, have surprised me pretty much. The show was, however, short, but marvellous. Their sound was fast, hardset and vigorous.

Arkona, the ones which everyone waited for, started to play (how amazingly!) a bit later. Masha, singer and mascot of the band, filled the whole place with energy and joy. But hey! The sound was like underwater, dull and pale. To be honest, Masha’s voice and samples were like oh-shit-this-is-not-what-I-wanted-to-hear. From the beginning, Arkona played less zingy and active song, based more on hard voice and less-melody music. The firt half of the show I really didn’t like, no, wait, I was like listening to useless crap better than to Arkona. I go off, disappointed.

P.S.: Raven then told me that second half was much better, hey, I again fucked up.
